Picketing continues at Nova this Friday, 9/9, from 7:30-12:00. At noon, teachers will stop actively picketing to focus on collecting non-perishable food items for Nova's student pantry. Their request is that we focus on this too! Donations for the pantry can be dropped off at the table on 25th Ave next to Nova starting at 7:30am. Items needed:

Individual items that can be microwaved (mac’n’cheese, cup o' noodles)
Protein and other snack bars
Money for gift cards
Gift cards for Seattle food stores (Fred Meyer, Safeway, Albertsons, Target, PCC, QFC, etc)

Other ways to help: march with the teachers (note: anyone under 18 should be accompanied by a guardian) or drop off messages of support (at the table on 25th Ave). Or you can email messages to hello@novaroots.org. We'll see that these get forwarded on to the teachers. They appreciate all the encouragement!

If the strike continues next week, we will again support the teachers with food and drink donations. The sign up sheet for these will be updated so we can coordinate and prevent another donut overload. The teachers are so thankful for everything you have done! Let's keep it going.
